The Heavy is een indierockband uit Bath die zijn mosterd haalt uit funk, soul, blaxploitation filmsoundtracks en de garage rock van de Sonics. Swaby and Taylor kennen elkaar al meer dan 10 jaar en maken de kern uit van de band. Swaby groeide op met reggae, Prince, Two Tone en hiphop. Wanneer hij Taylor leerde kennen, verdwaalden ze beide in de wereld van vintage rhythm and blues en de films van Jim Jarmusch. Anno 2013 hebben ze 3 albums uitgebracht, waaronder het recentelijk verschenen The Glorious Dead.
