programme

performance Ula Sickle – Relay
A black flag floats in continuous motion. Its movement and the flapping of the fabric become both choreography and sound. Presented as a single continuous action, Relay draws its inspiration from the many protests taking place around the globe.

This durational performance begins in public space (at 18:00) and gradually moves inside to the golden space (from 19:00 onwards). You may drift in and out, to stay, return, and be part of an ever-evolving moment of endurance and presence.

open jam
w/ singer Ghalia Benali, musicians Selma El Yazidi, Alef Borges de Souza, Estelle Baldé, performers Ariadna Navarrete Valverde, Andrea Bou Othmane, Yara Bou Nassar, thinker Brigitte Herremans + others to be announced
Artists and thinkers from all disciplines will weave an open, participatory programme of song, movement, poetry, and reflection. Here, everyone is invited to join, bringing an instrument, a voice, or simply one’s presence.

expo
A living landscape where images and gestures of resistance unfold.

+ food
Exquisite Palestinian restaurant “Olive - taste from Gaza” offers the famous vegetarian Mujadarra dish for 50 people in order to raise more money.

All proceeds go to Social Developmental Forum working on the ground in Gaza, supporting those most directly affected by the ongoing violence.

Embrace is an initiative of Brussels citizens to create connection and community throughout an evening in solidarity with Palestine and beyond — a space to share our anger, helplessness, frustrations, grief and fears, but also to raise our voices together.

Initiated by Mohamed Toukabri, Eva Blaute, Annalena Fröhlich and Matthieu Vergez.
