This piece is one big, playful, sensory, immersive, absurd, erotic, camp, and profound celebration of the freedom to engage with pleasure. Maxime Dreesen is a Belgian theater director and performer known for works that explore sexuality, intimacy, and queer futures. Their performances challenge societal norms through humor, sensuality, and provocation, often addressing issues of sex-positivity, unlearning, and liberation. A graduate of the Toneelacademie Maastricht, Dreesen’s work has been presented at venues such as De Studio (Antwerp), Grand Theatre (Groningen), Campo (Ghent), and Frascati (Amsterdam). Their productions, such as Youth for Sex (2021) and Countersex Education (2022), engage audiences in thought-provoking conversations about shame, freedom, and curiosity. With Peekaboo, Dreesen continues to challenge public sexual expression and offers audiences an experience of reflection and collective liberation.
