Oscillation festival is terug en en het moederschip begint haar reis hier in jouw schouwburg met twee dagen sound voorbij muziek, gespeeld op instrumenten voorbij technologie.

Daarna gaat de trip verder naar Maison de la création Modelwijk, Rosas Performance Space, URSquare, OASIS.bxl, Bodeek en BUDA BXL tot en met zondag 3 mei.

Pom Bouvier-b. & Marjolein Dijkman - Electrify Everything
Twee multidisciplinaire kunstenaars brengen elektriciteit tot leven met experimentele muziekinstrumenten, hoogspanningsfotografie en een poëtische tekst van Jean Katambayi Mukendi, voorgelezen door François Makanga, waarin verleden en heden van energieproductie worden geschetst aan de hand van elektrische terminologie.

Michaela Turcerová - IN FLUX
Michaela Turcerová is a Slovak composer and saxophonist based in Copenhagen, who searches for the hidden and otherwise unheard timbres of musical instruments. In her solo project IN FLUX, she weaves modifications of the alto saxophone, surreal amplification, external sound objects, and sine waves into a hybrid percussive organism.

Elijah Maja - Continuum?
Elijah Maja is an artist, writer, and researcher from London, who did a residency at Q-O2 in 2024. Tonight he will deliver a presentation which is sort of a talk but also an assemblage of sound, still and moving image, and speculative musings about space and daily life.

Ka Baird - Yomp
Tot ver buiten de psychedelische folk scene van de vroege jaren 2000 staat Ka Baird bekend om hun rauwe, grensverleggende solo-optredens met zang, elektronica, fluit en piano, die een brug slaan tussen geluidsexperiment, performancekunst en ritueel. Yomp speelt losjes met het idee van een mars die herhaaldelijk uit elkaar valt.

Augustė Vickunaitė - Le poids de la journée
Augustė Vickunaitė is a sound experimentalist who employs vintage reel-to-reel tape recorders to play, record, and create collage music, often exploiting analog errors and malfunctions of decaying technology. In Le poids de la journée she creates a closed system of tapes, recorders, and her own body, sonifying a theatrical exchange of energies, and the birth and death of sound.

Ikbal Lubys - The Witness Trees
Ikbal Lubys is an Indonesian artist, instrument builder, and co-founder of Yogyakarta’s creative space Ethnictro, who’s work transforms social issues, images, and forms into sound across diverse formats. In sound performance The Witness Trees he plays an electric guitar whose neck is replaced with a broken tree branch, stripped of strings, allowing the natural textures of the wood to “play” the forest’s memory.
The performance is interactive, inviting audiences to engage alongside him.

Lawrence Mc Guire
Het werk van Lawrence McGuire doorkruist zowel de tekst-geluidspraktijken van de klankdichters als het machinale denken in computermuziek en -wetenschappen. Hij presenteert een reeks monologen waarin synthetische en akoestische stemmen de personages, teksten en dialogen uit het libretto van Gertrude Steins opera Four Saints in Three Acts vertolken, waarbij hij zich afvraagt hoe tekst, beeld en symbool hun weg naar de mond vinden.

MSHR, opgericht door Brenna Murphy en Birch Cooper, is een kunstcollectief dat sculpturale elektronische systemen bouwt en onderzoekt, waarbij ze gebruik maken van analoge circuits en open-source software om “hyperobjecten te creëren die bruisen van levensechte stroom”.

Oscillation ::: from the Mothership, georganiseerd door Q-O2 werkplaats, is een tiendaags festival van concerten, workshops, installaties en lezingen. Het festival verkent de relatie tussen technologie en diversiteit, en hoe deze relatie kan worden hertekend door de koppeling tussen tools en hun oorspronkelijke doel te hacken. Door tools en instrumenten op een andere manier te gebruiken, kunnen nieuwe mogelijkheden worden gecreëerd, wat niet alleen verandert hoe muziek klinkt, maar ook wie muziek maakt. Daarom is Oscillation 2026 uitgedacht als een moederschip, een vaartuig dat andere voertuigen kan vervoeren en ze de wereld in kan sturen. Welkom aan boord!
