Together with director Daisuke Kosugi we watch The lost dreams of Naoki Hayakawa, a film by Ane Hjort Guttu & Daisuke Kosugi.
Daisuke Kosugi (1984, Tokyo) lives and works in Oslo. Central to his projects are videos in combination with sculpture, installation or performance. These works raise questions about nationality, gender, sub-culture belonging or creative labor through the lens of the internalized regulations that restrict our personal freedom. Drawing from his background in law, Kosugi investigates the discrepancies between rules or law and their application as opportunities to reflect on dominant power structures. For the past few years, Kosugi has focused on the power of bodies and movement as tools to negotiate these structures.
This event has been partly funded by the Office for Contemporary Art Norway.
