Heavy-weight producers present the freshest prince of Footwork. w/ Foot Juice Art.
As a musical genre, Footwork evolved in 1990s Chicago. It combines daredevil rhythms and chaotic samples with ghetto house beats. Style icons such as R.P.Boo and the all-too-young departed DJ Rashad (founder of the Teklife Collective) put the genre on the worldwide map.
DJ Taye is the Teklife Collective’s youngest scion, who started out as a rapper and beat maker, at least until he met his mentor, DJ Rashad, to whom he has dedicated Still Trippin’ , his debut album. Happily, he has not abandoned rap. With this recording, he has built a bridge between hip-hop and the Chicago Footwork scene.
DTM Funk, the founder of the Foot Juice Art. label, and Brussels-based producer and beat maker Le Motel will be behind the turntables making the evening complete.
