A space to share our anger, grief and fears, but also to raise our voices together.

If I must die
you must live
to tell my story…

— Refaat Alareer (1979–2023), poet killed in Gaza

This edition of Embrace takes weaving as its guiding thread: weaving as resilience, repair, and connection in times of violence and silence.

All proceeds go to Social Developmental Forum working on the ground in Gaza, supporting those most directly affected by the ongoing violence.

Embrace is an initiative of Brussels citizens to create connection and community throughout an evening in solidarity with Palestine and beyond — a space to share our anger, helplessness, frustrations, grief and fears, but also to raise our voices together.

about

Embrace started in summer 2024 as an initiative by Mohamed Toukabri and Eva Blaute and soon grew into a collective of Brussels citizens who use their privilege to make connections and raise awareness. The first Embrace event took place on 17 July 2024 in La Mercerie in Brussels and the proceeds went to Child Smile - Theatre and Education in Gaza.
