An ‘Estafette’ is a message carried from hand to hand, like a shared responsibility, a call for global solidarity.
Since October 7 2023, we witnessed the most precarious groups facing the harshest repression among solidarity movements. From massive fines for students to the systemic racism, islamophobia and queerphobia among the police, the growing critical mass is met with gaslighting, biassed media coverage, protest restrictions, bans and criminalisation.
In the cultural sector, we have been seeing institutions reduce the ongoing genocide to a “complex conflict”, catering to a Zionist government and indifferent upper-class public, not to mention the instrumentalisation of antisemitism. Especially in Germany, the state uses its ‘staaträson’ to actively back up the genocidal zionist project, with subsequent institutional censorship and violent pushbacks on cultural workers speaking up about the genocide.
Estafette for Palestine wants to affirm our civilian right to oppose dehumanising propaganda, g3n0cidal justifications and Western double standards.
Join us on 1️⃣3️⃣.1️⃣2️⃣ for an evening and a club-night against this repression of solidarity, raising funds for anti-repression initiatives.
The evening will feature a solidarity market, a public general assembly about and against repression, concerts and dj-sets. The first part of the evening will occur in the Beursscafé with free entrance, and the club-night will be €12 < 00h00 > €15, with all profits for different civilian-run networks that help people facing repression:
- The anti repression fund of the Fondation Marius Jacob, which helps pay legal costs for incriminated activists & people targeted by police violence.
- 3EZWA (fka Berlin Legal Fund), who uses the money in support of people experiencing police repression in connection with Palestine solidarity in Berlin.
