BEURSSCHOUWBURG is seeking A COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR (full-time)

Beursschouwburg is a vibrant arts centre for music, film and performing arts in the heart of Brussels. Our venue serves as a platform for the presentation and development of diverse artistic practices and research. We love the unexpected, work that challenges and surprises. Together, we are building a venue that constantly reinvents itself: with an open mind, a beating heart and a deep belief in the power of imagination. We see offline and online communication and accessibility as powerful and indispensable tools for a venue rooted in experimentation.

OUR PLANS FOR THE FUTURE

Beursschouwburg is facing a special challenge – which is precisely what makes this position so unique! In 2027, our building on the Auguste Ortsstraat will undergo a sustainable renovation while we relocate our activities to a temporary – and iconic, but above all still very secret and unannounced – location between 2027 and 2028. In a changing cultural landscape, Beursschouwburg will have the opportunity to reinvent itself in this exceptional site.

We are looking for an experienced, visionary and bold marketer, someone who's able to combine strategic insight with day-to-day decisiveness. You will keep Beursschouwburg firmly on the map as an inclusive arts centre and give maximum visibility to the programme so that emerging and less emerging artists can reach the widest possible audience. Are you our driven communications coordinator to help shape the future of Beursschouwburg?

JOB DESCRIPTION

- You will develop a strong brand identity that will accompany Beursschouwburg during its move to a temporary and challenging location, and for its subsequent return to the renovated venue on the Auguste Ortsstraat.

- You will develop and implement an inclusive, multilingual and audience-building communication strategy, both online and offline.

- You will develop editorial strategies that give a voice to the stories and underrepresented voices of our artists, audiences and partners. You will devise creative formats, create design and content for social media and monitor the Beursschouwburg identity on our various communication channels.

- You will coordinate the communications team (permanent staff and freelancers), optimise a transparent workflow and ensure good coordination with the artistic team on campaigns and other activities.

- You will have an eye for the growth opportunities and professional development of the communications team and consult with management on this.

- You know how to measure, analyse and maximise impact (both online and offline). Together with your team, you know how to translate insights gained from data analysis and audience surveys into concrete proposals and/or actions that contribute to the growth of our audiences – from more digital conversion to in-house signage.

- You keep your finger on the pulse of what is happening in the city and respond to new trends.

- You manage the available budget efficiently and purposefully. You work closely with management to ensure financial transparency regarding budget spending and optimisation.

- You will supervise the further development of the press and invitation policy.

- You are familiar with the management of communication tools and server management.

- You will monitor archive management within the organisation and contribute to the further development and implementation of the archive policy.

You have a solid knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro), Campaign Monitor, CMS systems (Processwire), Slack, Google Suite, Ticketmatic, Yesplan, Analytics (Google & Plausible), AI tools, and all (ethical) social media.

- You think creatively and outside the box. You enjoy change and guiding a team through a transition process. You are a team player and enjoy sharing your knowledge with colleagues.

- You are decisive and report proactively to management and other teams.-

- You are trilingual (NL/FR/ENG) and have excellent writing skills in Dutch. Knowledge of other languages is a plus.

- You are willing to work occasionally on weekends and evenings.

WHAT DO WE HAVE TO OFFER YOU?

- A challenging position in a dynamic arts centre and a great opportunity to give your professional life an exciting new turn!
