As a teenager, Josephine Foster sang at funerals and weddings in Colorado, the Western U.S. state where she grew up. Could this experience explain her uniquely sensitive arrangements? After her studies she began recording demos in Chicago and experimenting with various music genres, from jazz to pop and psychedelic rock. Today she combines her heavenly voice with ritualistic harp and bluesy guitar to create rich hymns that are as folky as they are spiritual. ‘Faithful Fairy Harmony’, her most recent release, affirms Foster’s reputation as an authentic voice that captivates both heart and mind.
