The Scottish avant-garde vocalist, Maggie Nicols, and the Antwerp pianist Fred Van Hove are indisputable icons of European improvised music. Together with a handful of colleagues they simply invented the genre. Recently the young vibraphonist, Els Vandeweyer stepped into the limelight: she performs miraculous feats with and on her vibraphone.
