Mothering the Body – the Mothering Body

w/ Helena Dietrich & Stav Yeini

workshop
SA 28.09 11:00

Helena and Stav invite you to explore the anatomical, physiological, and somatic richness of the ecosystem and the intelligence and inherent wisdom of the (mothering) body.

Through gentle guidance, you'll delve into your body's living technologies using mapping, orientation, visualisation, breath, and trace practices like voice, movement, drawing, and writing.

Experience the female reproductive system's physical, imaginary, energetic, and cosmic dimensions as spaces of passage, heritage, magic, connection to lost cross-cultural and ancient traditions, and the abundant creative force we carry within.

The aim is to explore our relationships with our bodies by deeply listening to the ancestral information within our bloodline and DNA, traversing possible painful memories stored in our tissues and the stories of the tissues in the collective body—our (her)stories.

The intention is to create a safe space for everyone to feel at home in their bodies. Both outer and internalized violence will be examined alongside pleasure and sensuality, with a focus on experiential knowledge. You are invited to come as you are.

Helena Dietrich (she/they) is a transdisciplinary artist and independent researcher, whose practice is situated at the intersection of performing arts, experiential soundscapes, experimental pedagogy, and immersive installation.
