Jóhanna Kristbjörg Sigurðardóttir New wall Painting (2014)
1 FEB — 30 JUN 2014

Jóhanna Kristbjörg Sigurðardóttur (IS, 1982) has been living in Belgium since 2012. She completed her M.A in Fine Arts at the KASK (Royal Academy of Fine Arts) painting department in Ghent. She is currently a candidate-laureate at HISK, Higher Institute for Fine Arts, Ghent.

Her paintings are often abstract constructions built up with colour and shapes. The mural in the Beurskafee challenges her to work with abstract space and shapes within a fixed architecture. This is the first large-scale painting Jóhanna has created with the additional challenge of a time constraint.
