The question how biased our perception is calls for a scientific answer. But the question about our responsibility for implicit biases is a philosophical one. We will investigate several answers and try to come to well-balanced position, trying to avoid both culpabilisation and intellectual hybris.

Dr. Katrien Schaubroeck is tenure-track lecturer at the Philosophy Department of the University of Antwerp. She published about responsibility, practical reasons, morality and love. Her most recent publication is the volume Love, Reason and Morality, co-edited with Esther Kroeker (Routledge, 2016).
