October

What can we offer you during the opening month? A great deal.
In short: a hefty music programme with big names, events for students (one time bikes, one time blood) and a focus programme Work Hard /Play Hard with exhibition, film, performance, installations.

3 OCT — 31 OCT 2013

What is Work Hard / Play Hard?
In greater depth: a programme that exposes the absurdity in situations at work, with poetical twists, jocular interventions and post-capitalistic musings.

Work Hard / Play Hard comprises a solo exhibition by artist Céline Berger (until recently she was not an artist but an engineer), an extensive film programme with single screenings of work by such illustrious film-makers as Yuri Ancarani (Human Machine Trilogy), Carmen Losmann (Work Hard, Play Hard), Katrien Vermeire (Der Kreislauf) and looped screenings which can be viewed free of charge from Wednesday to Saturday from 11 a.m. – 10 p.m.(!) in Brussels’ smallest cinema: The Black Box, showing Harun Farocki (Ein neues Produkt) and Herman Asselberghs (Dear Steve).

In addition there is a performance programme to be announced with names like Martin Schick (NOT MY PIECE), Johan Lorbeer (Proletarisches Wandbild), Diederik Peeters will be premièring Hulk and our artists in residence L’Amicale de Production are converting the Beursschouwburg into the grotesque attraction France Distraction.

Oh, and don’t forget the fantastic (Belgian) première of Journal and Printed Matter by the duo Sirah Foighel Brutmann and Eltan Efrat, who live and work in Brussels.

In short: come and join us –you’ll be very welcome.
See you there!
