Photo battle

Adil Fares (people of Kuregem) and Tina Herbots (FM Brussels, AB, deMorgen) spend three months capturing the beauty of urban life in Brussels, as each tries to outdo the other's latest photo with their own. You can follow this Photo Battle online via the facebook page of Curieus Brussels. This exciting battle is played out to the sound of beats by Wits (creator of 2015's best instrumental hip hop album according to Chase).

"Same as it never was” - tBEDRIJF

“Same as it never was” is inspired by futuristic urban concepts from the 70s. It is a projection of seemingly realistic images of the city superimposed with absurd elements. Lose yourself in videoscapes of nonexistent cities and discover a satirical look at visionary urban architecture.

You can participate via instagram with hashtag #ViaVolta16. Upload your street pic to instagram before 15 May, tag it #ViaVolta16 and you'll have the chance for a spot in the street expo at the pietonnier (Anspachlaan). All submissions will be projected at VOLTA16 in Antwerp (23/4), Ghent (30/4), Roeselare (29/4) and Brussels (3/6).

Creatief Schrijven vzw is bringing new life to unfamiliar texts. Anyone who stops by with a line of their own poetry is in for treat. A body painter will write the text on your arm, leg, or wherever you want, on the spot. If you aren't feeling inspired yourself then you can choose from a list of pithy or amusing verses. Go home with some poetry on your body.
