Eisa Jocson is a pole dancer and visual artist from the Philippines. Her solo artistic work merges both backgrounds, investigating notions of gender, body politics and power relationships.
In her latest performance Host, she unravels entertainment strategies, labour and body politics by focussing on the hostess clubs of Tokyo, where Filipino female hostesses engage in affective labour by performing a version of exotic femininity that caters to the Japanese context.
