In this conversation, we will speak about Sara Aboughazal’s novel Najmeh’s Dreams, Jumana Manna’s film Foragers, and Marah Haj Hussein’s performance Language: no broblem. Together, we want to look into the realms of land, dreams and language, and reflect on the current situation in Gaza. This talk is an invitation to all of you to come together, connect and share stories.

Sara Abou Ghazal is a feminist Palestinian writer from Beirut based in Brussels. She is the author of Ihlami Ya Sidi, published by Khan al Janub, and the upcoming novel King of the New Road. Sara's fiction work revolves around women's oral histories and archives, and has appeared in numerous Arab literary magazines and websites.

Marah Haj (born 1998) is a Palestinian dancer and maker from Kofor Yassif in occupied Palestine. She lives in Antwerp where she graduated from the Bachelor of Dance at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp in 2021. In June 2023, she completed her master's degree in Drama at KASK in Ghent. In her own work, she is concerned with the concept of the mother tongue and investigates the power dynamics between languages, which resulted in: Kilma Hilwa & Zayt Zaitoun (2021), In Exile (2022) and Language: no broblem (2023). In addition to her own work, she can be seen in Another Sacre, co-produced by Alain Platel & Bérengère Bodin and TH LNG GDBY by Tuur Marinus.

Reem Shilleh interlaces research, moving image, curatorial, editing, archival, and writing practices to question the infinite formations of memory and collectivity. She lives and works between Brussels and Ramallah.
