Thomas Plischke 2001
19 JAN — 30 MAY 2015

Dear Beursschouwburg, didn't see you in a while. How are you doing? Hope everything is fine and you have a great 50th anniversary!

It is you who brought Kattrin and me together in 2001 when we were camping with you in the BSBbis. You're really getting more and more beautiful nowadays. But I still knew you when you were quite ugly. But we had the best times together then, didn't we.

So I give you a toast on the way. Maybe someone could read it at your birthday party: "Here you are, 50 years of great collaborations with artists, curators, audiences, technicians. Never forget that collaboration is a mess; in german mess translates as durch-ein-ander (through-one-another). A durch-ein-ander always directly asks for decision making within a community of strangers, but beyond creating order, consensus and consolidation. So this decision making process is always also about the constitution of collectivity, of community, of a group as a zone of expression, not of control and set behavior. How do we want to live together? How do we want to make decisions together? Never forget to keep asking HOW do we do, WHAT we do, WHEN we do it ... together."

Thomas Plischke, choreograaf en theatermaker (deufert + plischke)
