Collectief Fanzine - van JJ naar Brussel

We bundelen onze persoonlijk verhalen in een fanzine en halen inspiratie bij de iconische Jill Johnston!

workshop
SA 21.09 14:00 - 17:00

Jill Johnston was a cultural critic, and lesbian activist who fought hard for lesbian visibility within the feminist movement; she also, for instance, questioned whether the lesbian feminist struggle was comparable to the oppression of racialized groups.

How do her critiques of the feminist scene of the 60s in New York resonate today in Brussels?

Let’s each bring a personal archive (e.g., a photo, written or spoken lines, an object, a tattoo, a website, etc.), and we'll provide archives of Jill Johnston.

about

LoupKass and Nour Outojane, founders of His/Her/Their Stories, prepared a collective, interactive, and ever-evolving archival space for trans* people and communities in Belgium. In July 2022, the space coexisted with the bar Mothers & Daughters in Brussels. Since its closure, they have been exploring ways in which trans* people in Belgium can reclaim Belgian institutional archives through their personal archives and the immaterial collection of ideas, representations, narratives, and emotions they possess.
