Sara Dziri Black Hole: The New Cycle
performance
VR 18.04 21:30

A lone raver’s body in the void, restless. Searching for something in the pulse, in the dark, in the weightless pull of sound.

Black Hole is not a party. It is a rite, a passage, a collision of past and present where a lonesome raver finds solace in movement and sound. Guided by the raw energy of 90s rave synths and basslines, entwined with ethereal echoes, this contemporary ritual emerges from North African trance traditions, unfolding in the liminal space between solitude and communion. A body in motion, led by music that cleanses, that lifts, that reclaims. The audience bears witness—to longing, to release, to old trance breathing into the new. Leaving behind what was never meant to hold us. Dancing to escape and then to return.

Between concert and dance performance, Sara Dziri investigates the raver’s experience from her own perspective, exploring trance as a space of transformation, exile, and belonging.

about

As a creative outlaw on the edge of what’s new and exciting, Sara Dziri rejects genre constraints, embracing a boundless spectrum of sound. Rebellious yet deliberate, she refuses to color inside the lines, constantly pushing them further. Through her residency at the legendary Fuse Club, she mastered the art of the closing shift, delivering high-energy, groove-driven sets that go beyond mixing—enhancing moments, catching audiences, and bringing people in sync on the dancefloor. But her artistry extends far beyond the DJ booth. As a performer, she weaves intricate live sets where sound, storytelling, and emotion collide, creating immersive experiences that blur the line between club culture and concert energy.

Her polyrhythmic and emotional productions flirt with trance, techno, house, and electro, blending her Belgian new beat and North African influences. Fiercely avoiding clichés, she tells stories beyond the ordinary, aiming to move people rather than just entertain. Whether through introspective live performances or high-energy festival sets, she thrives on contrast, always unexpected. A lover of fat bass lines, punchy grooves, and hypnotic synths, she infuses her music with regional instruments like the ney, darbuka, and Arabic violin. With Not Your Techno, her platform and event series, she amplifies underrepresented voices and challenges norms within the electronic music scene. Conceptual yet intuitive, her approach flows naturally—driven by emotion, rhythm, and a relentless desire to break free.
