FLU FLU / POWER / FLU POWER FLU: this rhyme in neon capital letters pulsed continuously day and night on the facade of Beursschouwburg from September 29, 2007 to July 4, 2012 meeting the gaze of city center passers-by.

Fate brought me to Flanders and after to Brussels, and I was asked to realize an intervention for the façade of the culture center: amazing! Immediately I felt very interesting the opportunity to create a new work outside, in contact with an unlimited audience, but the fact of being in the city of NATO and European Community, next to the Stock Exchange, made it even more important and meaningful. Leaving open interpretations, the installation played between irony and consciousness of nowadays. Power and flu, as influenza (physical), but also as influence (mental). "A Soziale Skulptur with a direct activist message," according to Cis Bierinckx.

The installation had been commissioned as a one-year project: it remained five years. Finally FLU POWER FLU became a real landmark! Now it is still chilling in my studio, waiting to share its message again elsewhere.
