In recent years, public debate around masculinity has intensified, and gender discourse has entered a volatile and revealing phase. From anti-gender movements and the global rise of far-right ideologies, to the mainstreaming of online “manosphere” communities and incel subcultures. In parallel a so-called “femosphere” emerges, reclaiming essentialist values too.

This conversation invites us to explore how entitlement, identity, and vulnerability intersect in the lives of boys and men today. How do cultural, social, and economic insecurities shape their narratives? How do these dynamics impact gender equality and gender justice? And what new possibilities emerge when we critically dismantle these discourses and imagine masculinities beyond dominance and competition?

Gathered in a cozy, informal setting, our guests and audience will unpack these tensions together, seeking not easy answers but more honest and grounded dialogue.

Liminal deconstructs patriarchal norms and gendered expectations in community by holding each other accountable. We believe that everyone can—and men in particular must—contribute to gender justice by reflecting on how patriarchy influences their identity, behavior, and relationships. Liminal provides spaces for exchange, (un)learning, healing, and growth, facilitating transformation through personal development supported by feminist theory.
