Marnix Rummens ( 1982) is artistic coordinator at Workspacebrussels, and teaches dramaturgy at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp.

He studied history of the arts and performance studies at the university of Ghent. He worked for Kunstenfestivaldesarts in Brussels, Museum of Contemporary Art Antwerp in Antwerp and S.M.A.K. in Ghent as art mediator - facilitating the way the audience can meet art and the associations they make with it.
As a critic he writes for magazines such as Rekto:Verso, Etcetera, STEPP and TOOP.

Started in 2006, Workspacebrussels is a workspace for live arts in their most diverse forms. First and foremost, it is a creative breeding ground that – due to collaborations with Kaaitheater, Rosas, Les Brigittines, Ultima Vez, Beursschouwburg, ParckFarm and Recyclart – connects with very different parts of Brussels. It is a hybrid space: artists from various disciplines can use the studios, meet in the co-working space, or share their experience through various workshops or coaching projects.

For its 10 year anniversary, Workspacebrussels is organising “In Praise of Waves”, an exhibition exploring the many ways in which Japanese culture is a source of inspiration in contemporary art today. In Praise of Waves is part of #JPN(B)XL, a focus program on Japan, together ‘A feverish era in Japanese Art’ in BOZAR and 'Made in Japan’ in CC Strombeek.
