ILLUM SPHERE

UK/DE/ Ninja Tune / Young Turks / Hoya Hoya

Illum Sphere (real name Ryan Hunn) is a leading and much-praised producer, DJ and organiser, originally from Manchester but currently living in Berlin. He was the brain behind the Hoya Hoya club nights in his hometown of Manchester, which currently host such resident artists as Lone, Jon K and Krystal Klear alongside guest artists such as Four Tet and Ikonika. Meanwhile, Hunn has also gained recognition for his own productions, including Pinch’s Tectonic and an EP on the Young Turks label (which also houses artists such as The XX, Jamie XX and FKA Twigs), and has now found a new interest in the form of Ninja Tune. His DJ sets vary, as the mood strikes, from hiphop to psyche via techno and boogie - you name it.

SYNKRO

UK/ R&S - Apollo Rec.

Synkro signed for Apollo, a sub label of the iconic and legendary Belgian R&S Records, following earlier releases on other labels including Brownswood and Exit Records. In the meantime, he was asked to produce remixes of some of his more notorious colleagues, including Model 500 and Snow Patrol. Joe Mcbride’s own productions usually consist of intellectual and emotive soundscapes and were already eagerly snapped up by artists including Giles Peterson, Mary Anne Hobbs, Prefuse 73 and dBridge. His most recent release received critical acclaim from Humo, among others.

Palsembleu

(BE - Boya)

Palsembleu is an ambient experimental collaboration between artists Bishop Dust and Ucture. The duo presents melancholic soundscapes comprised of deep oceanic textures, subtle subterranean drones, cerebral rhythms, and musique concrete.

SHADES

Shades, a young duo from Brussels, have already played a few popular sets at R&S records nights in cities like Brussels and Ghent. They also organise clubbing events in and around Brussels. Their sets vary from experimental and ambient to more uptempo techno and similar sounds.
