Mural by Laurie Charles
Visual and textual storyteller Laurie Charles takes on our big, white wall.
It could go in any number of directions: storyteller Laurie Charles (1987, Belgium) doesn’t limit herself to a single mode of expression. She writes, she paints and she makes video. There is a common thread, however: the combination folklore, humanity and history with narrative and speculative approaches to fiction. We in turn are speculating wildly about her contribution.
The Brussels-based artist has exhibited work at Grazer Kunstverein (Austria), CIAP Kunstverein (Hasselt), 1646 (The Hague), Nanjing International Art Festival (China), Beursschouwburg (Brussels), Komplot (Brussels) and Le Commissariat (Paris), among other venues.
