Giu Paluku-Atoka (they/them) is a Brussels-born artist and writer who recently relocated to the countryside. They're Aries Sun and Leo Rising aka made to be loud at any hours of the day. They will be sharing their knowledge around grief and choir. Choir has been part of their life since infancy and never left. They're currently working on the theatre play ‘Joyful Mourning’ to explore different, contemporary ways of mourning. With this workshop, they aim to create a comforting space, accessible to all (neuro-)identities and abilities to express mourning creatively. Singing is a big part of funerals around the world, so why not sing publicly now that lives are taken at an extreme rate? The idea is to learn, through our bodies, that there's nothing to be quiet or private about when grieving. Participants are invited to bring any comforting aids with them – plushies and doudous welcome!
