Britt Hatzius (DE/UK) Kabul For You
The priceless value of a camera

Britt Hatzius receives a hard drive from her father Thilo, with video clips taken during his 3-year position as German development consultant to the Afghan Ministry for Irrigation, Water Resources and Environment in Kabul. Having discovered the video function on his ‘point-and-shoot’ camera he starts filming his daily life: from work meetings to riding his unicycle in the park, ignoring security restrictions imposed on ‘foreign presence’. Built on innate parental trust, her film assembles this footage into a portrait that bears gentle witness to a camera becoming an invaluable companion.
