On the building’s awning our name is spelt in various different ways: beurshowbrug, bourscaubirg, etc. Seven different spellings, but which is the ‘right’ one? It was David Helbich who took it upon themselves to liberate Beursschouwburg from the shackles of official spelling. Ten years later, it's time for a polish on "What People Say.
"The blue letters in plexiglass hang from the metal awning with magnets. On the front of the letters, at the place of the magnet, you can see a dirty black spot. These are iron air particles from the brakes of cars, from the trains, from the industry outside the city center. This is what the ferrite magnet pulls out of the air.
