The Moira are people who mourn on behalf of others, managing loss through an intimate form of labor. caner looks at the service economy, emotional labor, migrant labor, and performative work, incorporating their own experiences as a German-Turkish person and memories of their grandmother's ritual farewell.

How is this form of work connected to the performance economy on stage and in the theatre? How do we create spaces for mourning, and who mourns what? In the black box, Caner and Élie challenge traditional spatial hierarchies in relation to the audience. Here, mourning is understood as the agreement to undergo a transformation involving everyone present as active witnesses, with an open-ended outcome.

caner teker is a survivor, supporter, and choreographer. Their performances explore themes of parasitism, transformation, and autobiographical worldmaking. By manipulating space, time and the body, they create images that convey personal experiences beyond queerness and post-migrant identity. caner presents for the very first time in Brussels.
