ShunGu + NEXCYIA

"I've always dreamed of making an album where I could bring together artists I deeply admire, curating voices, energies, and sensibilities that have inspired me,” says Brussels-born producer and multidisciplinary artist ShunGu of his acclaimed 2025 record, Faith in the Unknown. Tonight he presents that collective and cosmic voyage live, accompanied on stage by Ruqqiyah, Mejiwahn and Wonky Logic.

Expanding that dialogue between what we know and what we don't, ShunGu invited worldwide wanderer NEXCYIA to open the stage.

Both musicians know from experience that in the spaces where trust, risk, and vulnerability intersect, something entirely new can emerge. Something that invites us to stop and smell the stars together.

NEXCYIA
NEXCYIA is the solo project of Adam Dove, a Paris-born, Berlin based American sound artist and sound designer. His work might be described as outsider ambient, blending underground experimental music with sound design, textural soundscapes, and sound mangling techniques. Moving through shifting samples, moods and emotional registers, he explores themes of otherness and belonging. Through dense layering and continuous audio manipulation, he creates ever-evolving pieces that draw listeners into a sonic journey, eschewing the over-visited constraints of a tempo grid.

NEXCYIA has performed and exhibited work at major venues, contemporary art spaces, and festivals across the US, UK and Europe, including the Barbican Centre, ICA, Café OTO and much more. He has established a strong presence in the ambient music scene, with features in Fact Magazine, The Wire, and Crack Magazine, with appearances on Resident Advisor, NTS and BBC Radio. Label releases can be found on Good Morning Tapes, Haunter Records, Hivern Discs, 29Speedway, Paralaxe Editions, Takuroku and more, with a collection of self-releases on Bandcamp and Nina.

ShunGu
Maybe Brussels’ most enigmatic music prophet ShunGu is forever in transformation. Under the name Senga, he is an accomplished producer and beatmaker who has worked with the likes of Dreamcastmoe, Quelle Chris en Fly Anakin, and knows how to elevate dance floors into sacred spaces through tantalizing MPC-driven live sessions of Detroit-infused house.

Under his own name, ShunGu has quietly carved out a unique place in the subterranean music scene, blending jazz-infused sampling with cosmic grooves, bridging the worlds of hip-hop, jazz, psych-rock, and house with the intellectual curiosity and playful creativity of a tireless sound architect. In 2025 ShunGu released his highly anticipated album, Faith in the Unknown, on the legendary Lex Records, with a surefire roster of collaborators including Pink Siifu, Liv.e, and Fatima,to name but a few.

His latest alias dj Echotree and the eponymous label/platform are dedicated to the more introspective, legacy-oriented and interdisciplinary side of his artistic practice. Considering the impressive series of mixtapes, albums, radio shows and live gigs to his name, the only constant for this next chapter might be that you’ll be using your mind, your memory and most of all your heart to experience it to the fullest.
