Lesbica Enigmistica #2 w/ TOMBOYS DON'T CRY + leïla alice

After two epic nights at Mothers & Daughters in 2018 and 2019, TOMBOYS DON’T CRY return to host a celebratory publication launch and party.

In the days leading up to the party, TOMBOYS DON’T CRY will develop and produce the second act of their participatory, queer-led publication project Lesbica Enigmistica #2. Conceived as a collective process to gather, archive and celebrate local queer language-making, “Lesbica Enigmistica #2” will invite contributions from the multilingual lesbian and trans communities in Brussels.

TOMBOYS DON’T CRY is a Milan-based queer artistic collective founded in 2011, celebrating a post-identity horizon through visual, sonic and performative research by and for the LGBTQIA+ community.

leïla alice is a transdisciplinary maker with roots in the Rwandan diaspora, based in Brussels. Through performance, poetry and visual language, they explore how alter egos can heal, challenge and play. Through their alter ego Lilo Soleil—a mermaid who speaks through color and sound—they explore the reconciliation of multiple identities. Lilo Soleil is both a diary and a dream, an island where the unspoken is given a voice. A search for coming home, beyond boundaries of language, origins and gender.
