Nous projetons trois courts métrages de l’artiste nippo-belge Lisa Spilliaert (JP/BE).
Outre la projection de Growth Record 1, nous dévoilons Growth Record 2 en avant-première. Dans le cadre de ce projet à long terme, dont deux épisodes sont déjà disponibles, Lisa Spilliaert suit de près la croissance d’un enfant qui, pour ainsi dire, aurait très bien pu être le sien. Elle a, en effet, eu une relation avec le Japonais qui est devenu père neuf mois plus tard. Par curiosité envers le bébé, elle décide de le photographier régulièrement.
Avec sa sœur Clara, Lisa Spilliaert a réalisé un troisième projet de film, Hotel Red Shoes. Une vieille chanson nostalgique japonaise intitulée « The Girl with the Red Shoes » et l’hôtel de l’amour « Red Shoes » à Tokyo constituent le décor d’un désir mutuel entre la Belgique et le Japon. L’œuvre cinématographique Hotel Red Shoes est la réinterprétation de la chanson par les deux sœurs.

► Lisa Spilliaert (°1990) was born in Tokyo. Her mother is Japanese and her father Belgian. She grew up in Japan and moved to Belgium when she was 17. Spilliaert uses the rangefinder of her camera to bridge distances, and to unite mental reference frameworks.
