Dag van de dans: Liz Kinoshita VOLCANO
De uitbarsting van de Ijslandse vulkaan Eyjafjallajökull in 2010 en de totale stilstand van het Europese luchtverkeer deden Kinoshita nadenken over het gemak waarmee we vandaag de wereld rondreizen.
In VOLCANO gebruikt ze mechanismes van het musical-genre van de jaren ’30 – ‘50 om het hectische leven van hedendaagse performers en globetrotters aan te tonen.
VOLCANO vertelt je over de levensstijl, de tournees en de toeren die nodig zijn om performances mogelijk te maken. Maar het gaat evenzeer over de reflecties die ontstaan wanneer een vulkaanuitbarsting ons met beide voeten op de grond brengt.

Liz Kinoshita was born in Canada and moved to Europe in 2002 to further study and work. In 2004 Liz participated in DanceWEB during the ImpulsTanz Festival in Vienna, Austria. She then studied in P.A.R.T.S. in Brussels, Belgium from 2004-2008.
