Beloved FuckUp Fans,

We are delighted to invite you all to the third FuckUp Night in Brussels on December 11th and to announce to you the following speakers:

• Cheryl Miller

  founder of the Digital Leadership Institute, an international NGO that aims to close the gender gap in strategic STEM sectors. Cheryl was an expert consultant to the European Commission's 'Science: It's a Girl Thing !' campaign which included a promotional video to motivate girls and young women to study science. The video was very badly received and encountered a large amount of criticism, however. Cheryl will explain how the video came to be and how she dealt with the experience.

• Feiko Beckers

  a Dutch visual artist working with video, performance, installation and text. Fascinated by uncomfortable, embarrassing and awkward daily life fuckups, Feiko's work is a continuous ode to failure. The story he will tell us is that of his romantic dream of fucking up his work to such an extent that it would make him an artist “dying in harness”, and how this seems impossible to attain. In other words, Feiko is failing at failing, and will tell us about his meta-failure experience.

• Mark Farragher

  sharepoint consultant at Amplexor. Mark will share the story of his company DesignState that, after three years of very explosive growth, went bankrupt in about 14 days. Those of you that attended FuckUp Night November will remember this story as the ‘Failure Avalanche’.
