In her paintings, Tyberghein injects everyday symbols and objects with lifelike personality. The young Antwerp artist hijacks the universal readability of these symbols - from Magritte to traffic pictograms - and transforms them into a personal alphabet full of trompes l'oeil.

‘Soft News’ is Charline Tyberghein’s first solo exhibition in Brussels. She lives and works in Antwerp and graduated from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp in 2018.
