Antony has no surname but certainly an unmistakable sound to his voice and a great accompanying band he calls The Johnsons. Turning was a project he worked on with video artist Charles Atlas and a widely acclaimed European tour from 2006 in which the group performed against the backdrop of a live video installation in which thirteen slowly moving beautiful women were to be seen, filmed on the spot.
In addition, Turning is now seen as an intimate filmic experience based on those unique performances, a sensual and poignant exploration of identity, (trans)sexuality, metamorphosis and the fragility of the body.
