Pieterjan Ginckels HUMAN DISCO BONG
Artwork in Residence
installation
7 JUN —
29 JUN 2013
In 2011 Pieterjan Ginckels was awarded laureate of the prestigious Young Belgian Painters Award, with a velodrome built to museum scale which formed the pivot of a series of performances. HUMAN DISCO BONG, an organic sculpture made from 120 cycle helmets stuck by the same number of individuals with pieces of mirror, originated from this work. The sculpture surfaced for the first time in Beursschouwburg during our very own RollerMadness and in the 2012 – 2013 season will be integrated regularly into the Beursschouwburg program as ‘art work in residence’.
