In a six-part series of discussions – Small Talks – we’ll be taking a closer look at the different perspectives that define our reality and our norms. Normal Schnormal!
“Self care and healing and attention to the body and the spiritual dimension, all of this is now a part of radical social justice struggles.” (Fania and Angela Davis)
Sociologist and writer Malika Hamidi will start from this reflection by Angela and Fania Davis. We zoom in on Malika's personal feminist struggle, which was initially politicizing and became spiritual in recent years. She believes that "you must change yourself in order to change the world". Angela Davis reminds her that in our activism we have to think deeply about the link between our innerness, the spiritual dimension and the world around us. A political journey that is at the same time spiritual.
