David Kesteloot

Freelance IT-project manager and founder of Linked-IT. When David left college he launched himself straight into a career of entrepreneurship, founding a small IT-company with a friend. This worked out very well. About a decade of prosperity followed, then he decided to found a second company focused on beauty products. This is where the FuckUp part of the story kicks in: the launch of the company went badly and they declared bankruptcy shortly afterwards. To make matters worse, the financial damage was so big that it dragged David's first company into bankruptcy as well. He will talk about damage control, obtaining help from the right people, getting back on top and helping others in turn.

Antoine Parmentier

Business engineer with more than 20 years experience in the oil & gas sector. Over the course of his career he assumed various responsibilities and became a real specialist in change management relating to financial processes. He was hired as CFO by one of the biggest hospitals in Belgium to help it recover from huge financial difficulties. He will explain why, despite his technical competence, he failed to change the way of doing things and was eventually fired. (This talk will be in French.)

Carina Verveckken

Founder and CEO of WOG Business. About 15 years ago, Carina and her husband decided to start a company in the cleaning industry. Soon after launching the company, they realized they lacked knowledge of the sector and tried to make up for it by following training and workshops, but the ship had already sunk too far. Being a skilled business plan writer, Carina managed to convince the bank to continue investing in the company, and they fought for its survival for many years. The battle came to an end when she declared bankruptcy. Carina will talk about her experience and how she retrieved her original professional focus afterwards.
