Au printemps 2018, c’est le tour de Helgi Thórsson, né en 1975 en Islande, mais qui réside désormais à Anvers. Ses prédécesseurs furent Jóhanna Kristbjörg Sigurðardóttur, Fiona Mackay, Julien Meert, Denie Put, Nel Aerts, Atelier Pica Pica, Michaël Van den Abeele et Céline Butaye.
Les œuvres de Thórsson se caractérisent par une finition brute, un peu maladroite, le vernis des couleurs excentriques, un humour bizarre, une nostalgie ringarde et l’intime conviction que l’art peut provoquer quelque chose de bon chez le spectateur. Le printemps 2018 s’annonce d’ores et déjà comme un ravissement pour les yeux !
