Martin Scorsese The Last Waltz
“It Started as a Concert. It Became a Celebration.” Goodbye to The Band.
On 25th November 1976 The Band gave a goodbye concert and Martin Scorsese was there to film it. The Band started as Bob Dylan’s acompanying group and in the ‘60s and ‘70s grew to become one of the most prominent performers on the American rock scene.
Scorsese’s masterly documentary manages perfectly to record this unique evening in which the band shares the stage with all of the major artists of the time such as Eric Clapton, Neil Diamond, Emmylou Harris, Neil Young and Dr. John. End of an era.
