Out Loud!

Wham bam thank you ma’am! A candid and very rare documentary portrait of the musical chameleon David Bowie, which will leave a lasting impression.

Alan Yentob filmed Bowie just at the time he said a final farewell to his androynous alter ego, Ziggy Stardust, just before his return as the Thin White Duke with the plastic soul of Young Americans, among others.

You’ll get to see a very fragile David Bowie during a series of backstage interviews in limousines and hotel rooms: a cocaine addict, paranoid, physically exhausted and incoherent. The documentary was recorded in 1974 during the Diamond Dogs tour of the US and includes the only known visual material from this legendary tour. The concert recordings from that time - including performances of Space Oddity, Moonage Daydream, Aladin Sane, Sweet Thing/Candidate and Time - are as unique as they are masterful.

The film is preceded by a few clips and concert recordings from Bowie’s showy rock period.
