Fatima Al Qadiri was born in Senegal, brought up in the diplomatic world of the Middle East and eventually settled in Brooklyn. A determinant factor in her work is Kuwait, with its irreppressible high-rise, even in the midst of the Gulf War.
The clash between all these worlds and her own imagination provide countless projects which are at once both surprising and recognizable.

Lucky Dragons
Lucky Dragon – of Daigo Fukuryü Maru for the specialists – was a Japanese fishing boat which was exposed to nuclear radiation in 1954 with catastrophic consequences for the crew.
Sarah Rara and Luke Fischbeck found inspiration in this incident for their highly experimental collaboration: Lucky Dragons.
Live, the duo creates a “temporary logic”, where the audience become the artistes and vice versa.
What it amounts to is that you’re going to be doing strange things without knowing why (it’s not really dangerous). Their performances are so intense that you’ll probably shine in the dark for a while!
