A year ago, Abattoir Fermé went on a roadtrip through the states of Georgia, Louisiana and Missisippi. The many impressions, phantasies and snaphots they collected became the inspiration for this new creation, in which the company tries to unearth the American memory that lies buried in the deep southern mud.
Knowing Abattoir Fermé however, do not expect a dry travel diary... Rather, the raw documentary material is transformed, subverted, filtered and mystified through the lens of director Stef Lernous and co. Using an almost cinematic language (with voice-overs, filmic cutting etc. ), GHOST is an immersive, visual trip featuring mysterious characters and wandering spirits, enigmatic extracts from secret conversations, and an amazing musical soundtrack by Kreng.
Like previous work from the company, GHOST is a performance that slowly crawls under your skin and covers the strange territories between melancholy and horror, between recognition and Befremdung.
