The Heavy are an indie rock band from Bath (UK) who draw influence from funk, soul, blaxploitation film soundtracks, and the gritty garage rock of the Sonics. The core of The Heavy are Swaby and Taylor, who have known each other for a decade. Swaby grew up surrounded by reggae, Prince and Two Tone as well as the hip hop he embraced so fervently. And when he met Taylor they bonded over vintage rhythm and blues and the movies of Jim Jarmusch. In 2012, the band delivered the self-produced The Glorious Dead.
