Heartbroken Brunch w/ Matinée

Starting downstairs with a garage sale for emotional baggage and unwanted memories, a brunch to munch away the heartache in combination with the known formula of carefully selected morning tunes in the bar. We rise throughout the day and move upstairs to the rooftop for a lush summer sunday with some magnificent live acts.

Bring a book, crosswords, blanket, pillow, toy, your best friend, your grandfather, … who/whatever you feel like having with you on a peaceful day.

Hailing from somewhere between Liège and a quiet corner of the internet, ssaliva's experimental electronic music tends to feel distant and intimate at once, with its sparse rhythms, lush tones, and crystallised textures. He was the first artist to ever release on Slagwerk, went on to collaborate with Yung Lean, Bladee, and SKY H1 to name but a few, and has played on this very rooftop several times many years ago. With his most recent release "you make my heart sing / Flamer" ssaliva returned to Slagwerk, and that might just be why the EP feels like when you come home to the place you know best and it still manages to surprise you. With today's intimate rooftop homecoming for Matinée, ssaliva might even move us to tears. Maybe.

Dela Savelli

Gustave Muhozi, also known as magi ludi, is an audiovisual artist based in Brussels. He is also half of the music project Field Memo, released on the Toverberg collective. His work blends poetry, his own voice, field recordings, and video, exploring themes of memory and dissociation.
