Originaire du Koweit, Monira Al Qadiri est fascinée par la masculinité (non) conventionnelle. Née au Sénégal, elle est partie étudier les arts visuels au Japon car elle désirait plus que tout devenir un personnage (masculin) de manga. C’est avec une performance sur cette histoire (avec une poupée un peu glauque d’elle-même au masculin) qu’elle a foulé les planches pour la première fois. À l’occasion du festival Tashweesh, elle propose une nouvelle conférence-performance sur le rôle du genre à Koweït et Japon.
