Née en Iran, Sachli Gholamalizad a quitté son pays natal avec toute sa famille pour rejoindre la Belgique. Elle était alors âgée de cinq ans. Dans A reason to talk, elle cherche à expliquer la relation difficile qu'elle entretient avec sa mère.
Elle se plonge dans l'histoire familiale et s'engage dans une difficile confrontation avec sa mère et sa grand-mère. Cette relation difficile est-elle propre à son éducation dans deux cultures si lointaines ou est-elle le lot de tous les rapports mère-fille?
Au moyen de vidéos qu'elle a tournées en Iran et en Belgique, de fragments de journal intime, de souvenirs, de bouts de romans et d'extraits sonores, Sachli nous propose un spectacle infiniment personnel. Les nombreuses strates et contradictions de la vie de ces trois femmes sont mises en scène à travers l'utilisation de différents supports.

Sachli Gholamalizad (°1982) is a Belgian actress and theatre maker of Iranian descent. She studied Drama at the RITS in Brussels. She followed a yearlong course in method acting with Jack Waltzer (a lifelong member of the Actors Studio). She performed in Hooglied by Zuidpool and in performances of for instance Moussem, Union Suspecte and Ahmed Khaled. She appeared on television in series such as ‘Dag en Nacht’, ‘Ella’ and ‘Witse’.
