Placebo Dances is a space of investigation around pleasure. It is a place for the reconfiguration of relationships. It is a tendency, an inclination, an unbalancing towards a condition of openness, connection and enchantment, which can foster pleasure at oneself and others, and question the positioning of our bodies in the world.

In Placebo Dances we seek for postures that are shaken by desire, that gently disrupt the body and make it waver, to find an erotic closeness of our being in the world. Pleasure as salvation in times of catastrophe.

Flavia Zaganelli (zij/haar) is danseres en performer. Ze heeft zich zelfstandig gevormd door internationale kunstenaars in Italië en elders in Europa te volgen en met hen samen te werken, en studeerde vervolgens af aan de Tanzfabrik in Berlijn en Smash#9. Haar onderzoek is transversaal en multidisciplinair; ze is geïnteresseerd in hybride vormen en samenwerkingsprocessen. In die processen vormt het lichaam altijd de basis van het creatieve proces en fungeert het als een motor voor verandering. Dans en performance worden gezien als concrete plekken om het mechanisme van relaties te onderzoeken en ideeën over de toekomst te belichamen.

Haar werk (The Game We Play; INVISIBILIA – 2021; electrica/ecosi'stɛma/ - 2023) was al te zien in theaters en op festivals in heel Italië. Placebo Dances werd geselecteerd voor de Boarding Pass Plus Dance 2023-mobiliteitsbeurs en ging in première op het Santarcangelo Festival 2025.
